I Wrote A Poem

In my hand I hold
A photo of a little girl
Whose glasses have yet to become
Contacts
Whose unibrow has yet to find
Tweezers
Whose crooked teeth have yet to carry
Braces
"What would you tell this little girl?"
That there are worlds inside opals
That there is hope inside eyeballs
That there are chances taken
Chances lost
That a city's lights can't brighten
What's darkened inside
That life keeps moving and so will you
So move with the grace
To forgive and embrace
The glasses
The unibrow
The crooked smile
